Merriweather Post Pavilion is the ninth studio album by Animal Collective, and was released on January 20, 2009. The album's name comes from the venue of the same name, in Columbia, Maryland. The band members have fond memories of going to shows there while growing up, and the album is an attempt to make music for an amazing outdoor listening experience.
